Hi there! I'm Metaphysician, or Meta, a digital concept artist based in the UK with over 13 years of art experience. I specialise in digitally painted character and creature design, paintings ranging from portraits to full-bodies, concept art and sketch design, and environmental painting. All of my works are of fictional entities, with a focus on stylised realism and striking, contrasting lighting.

About me and my artwork
Hello, I'm Shannon! My internet handle is Metaphysician, or Meta.
I've been creating artwork for 13+ years in various styles and of various subjects, primarily humanoids and fictional creatures. I'm entirely self taught, and all of my techniques and styles have been picked up through trial, error, study of other artists, and replication of many, many references.
Humanoids are my preferred subject, and what I have the most experience painting, alongside the environments they exist in. Most of my characters are homebrewed for my own worlds, but may also extend to original characters from other media. I also draw my characters and creatures from the video games that I play!
My primary artistic style and preferred aesthetic is of a dark gothic/dark fantasy nature, such as the example piece on the right. All personal pieces are of my own original characters, or from my own homebrewed worlds and stories of the sci-fi/fantasy genre.
Artwork is all painted in Clip Studio Paint on an 11,000 by 8,000 canvas, 1300 DPI, for high resolution images and close detail shots. Completed paintings are given in PNG or JPEG downloadable formats at full and half resolutions with no extra charge for file format or resolution changes. I can create works of custom characters or characters from pre-existing franchises and games within reason. I do not create paintings of real life figures.
